Computers

Computer have been utilized in some Dental practices since 1979. We obtained our first computer to modernize our business office in 1979 because I saw the potential to become more efficient. It was actually one of the first PC's and was manufactured by Radio Shack. By 1986, we felt the system had become obsolete and upgraded to a system with terminals available in every room. Our system has been constantly upgraded and improved over the past 10 years. We are currently in the process of establishing a computer network throughout the entire office. We will continue to modernize our system and keep up to date and state of the art. Some of the new computer technologies coming to the clinical area in dental practices include:
  • Computerized X-Rays
  • Treatment planning
  • computerized periodontal (gum) screening
  • Patient Education
  • Introral Cameras
  • Internet Information
